Completion of secondary education and other trades certificate or diploma in auto mechanic is required. 2 years to 3 years of work experience as auto mechanical is required. Ability to communicate in English is required.
Area of specialization: Engine repair, Diagnostics, Alignment, steering and suspension, brake system, hydraulic system, fuel and emission system, Ignition and electrical system, Automatic transmission, engine repair and overhaul, heating, ventilation and air conditioning system.
Job description:
Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of vehicles. Confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit. Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions. Inspect mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions. Inspect motor operation. Review work orders. Test automotive systems and components. Estimate parts and labour costs to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs. Perform scheduled maintenance service. Test and adjust units to specifications. Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements. Complete reports to record problems and work performed. Provide customer service.
