Assistant manager – Retail

Courtenay Country Market Ltd located at 5352A Island Highway N, Courtenay, BC, Canada V9J 1S9

is looking for 1 Assistant Manager -Retail to join their team as soon as possible.

Main Duties:

Plan, direct and evaluate the operations of the store.
Manage staff and assign duties
Develop and implement marketing strategies
Determine merchandise and services to be sold.
Implement price and credit policies
Source and negotiate with vendors to procure merchandise for resale
Plan budgets, monitor revenues and authorize expenditures
Resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints and supply shortages
Determine staffing requirements and hire & train or arrange for training of staff
Study market research and trends to determine consumer demand, potential sales volumes and effect of competitors’ operations on sales
Requirements:
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years or equivalent experience

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years experience as a supervisor or Manager, ideally in retail sector

Language: English

Salary: $40.87/hour for 30 hours per week
