The Company

Davey Plastics was primarily focused on custom plastic fabrication then we have expanded our practice to include wood and metal. In 2009, we brought in a CNC router, plasma, and oscillating knife to allow even more creativity and accuracy to our projects. Over the past two decades, Davey Plastics Inc. has created thousands of customized products for customers all across Canada and the USA.

 

Job duties:

1.        Read work orders, technical drawings, and production specifications to determine machining requirements.

2.        Set up and operate CNC routers, milling machines, and other machining equipment to cut, drill, mill, groove, and shape plastic and acrylic materials.

3.        Load raw materials, install cutting tools, and monitor machining operations to ensure products meet production specifications.

4.        Measure and inspect finished products using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and quality.

5.        Perform routine machine adjustments, tool changes, cleaning, and preventive maintenance to ensure efficient equipment operation.

6.        Identify machining defects or quality issues and report equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.

7.        Follow production schedules, quality standards, and workplace health and safety procedures.

8.        Maintain accurate production records.

Requirements:

·          Secondary school completion is required.

·         At least 1 year work experience operating CNC machining equipment is required.

·         Previous experience in manufacturing environment is preferred.

·         Experience and knowledge in machining plastic, acrylic, PVC, HDPE, polycarbonate, or similar materials is an asset.

·         Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs throughout the shift.

·         Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

·         Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality products.
