Job duties:

l Look after children in the employer’s home

l Bathe, dress, and feed children as needed

l Prepare formula and change diapers as needed

l Plan, prepare, and serve meals for children

l Oversee children’s routines, including meals, naps, and other daily activities as directed by the parents

l Perform general housekeeping to maintain a safe, clean, and healthy home environment

l Teach and guide children in personal hygiene and self-care habits

l Support children’s emotional well-being and encourage social development

l Apply discipline methods as specified by the parents

l Provide age-appropriate educational and recreational activities, including games, crafts, reading, and outdoor play

l Accompany children to and from school, training programs, and other appointments

l Communicate daily with parents about the children’s activities, behaviors, and health while under care

Terms of employment: Permanent and full-time (35-40 hours/week)

Skills requirements (includes education and work experience):

l Completion of secondary school

l Completion of a recognized child care training program, or at least six months of verified experience in caring for children

l Preference given to candidates with an ECE Assistant Certificate or an Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certificate

l Proven ability to perform child care responsibilities effectively
