As a Home Support Worker, your primary role will be to provide specialized care and support for my autistic son. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Personal Care: Assisting with activities of daily living activities such as dressing, bathing, feeding, and grooming.
•Communication Support: Understanding and supporting my son’s communication needs (especially verbal).
• Sensory & Behavioral Support: Managing sensory sensitivities, using calming techniques, and implementing strategies for positive behavior reinforcement.
• Health & Medication Management: Assisting with administering medications/supplements as directed.
• Transportation Assistance: Accompanying parent(s) to my son’s appointments, therapy, school, or activities when required.
• Education & Social Skills Development: Encouraging learning through structured activities, assisting with educational tasks, and facilitating social interactions.
• Household Support: Performing light housekeeping tasks related to my son’s care, including meal preparation (offering multiple options to accommodate his preferences), organizing his belongings, ensuring he has specific clothing and dishes, laundry, washing dishes, and making beds.
• Supervision & Companionship: Ensuring my son’s safety, emotional well-being, and engagement in appropriate activities throughout the day.
• Daily Walks & Outdoor Activities: Walking with my son to support sensory regulation and physical activity.
Your role is crucial in maintaining a structured and supportive environment that aligns with my son’s needs.
Terms & Conditions
• Your work schedule will be determined based on the needs of my son and our (Mother and Father) schedule and may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends. Flexibility is required as the schedule may be adjusted over time.
• This offer is contingent upon meeting all legal work requirements and providing necessary documentation.
