Position Summary
Sabre Industrial Supplies Ltd. is seeking a Procurement Coordinator to support purchasing and inventory activities within our Operations team. This role is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials and products required for internal use and resale, while maintaining appropriate inventory levels, supporting cost controls, and collaborating closely with internal teams and external suppliers.
This position is full-time and requires flexibility in scheduling, availability, and travel to support operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
•Determine purchasing requirements, quantities, and appropriate suppliers based on inventory levels, demand, and lead times
•Prepare, issue, and manage purchase orders in accordance with company policies
•Monitor incoming deliveries to ensure accuracy against purchase orders and report discrepancies, shortages, or backorders
•Maintain appropriate stock levels for regularly used materials
•Monitor supplier performance, pricing, and reliability
•Build and maintain positive working relationships with vendor partners
•Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or service
•Source and evaluate new suppliers and products to ensure competitiveness
•Gather, analyze, and maintain purchasing and inventory data to support buying decisions
•Communicate with sales, accounting, and inventory teams to resolve pricing, product, or receiving issues
•Expedite orders when required to meet operational needs
•Prepare reports and maintain accurate purchasing and supplier documentation
•Support inventory consolidation, reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives
Work Conditions and Requirements
•Full-time schedule averaging 30 hours per week
•Overtime may be required
•Weekend work may be required
•Travel may be required, including occasional extended travel periods to meet with suppliers, attend site visits, or support operational initiatives
•Work is primarily office-based, with occasional time spent in warehouse or supplier environments
Qualifications
•Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain, Materials Management, or a related field
•Minimum 3–5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory control, or a related role
•Experience within a distribution, wholesale, or industrial supply environment is an asset
•Strong organizational and time-management skills
•Proficiency with standard business software, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
•Strong written and verbal communication skills
•Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
•Detail-oriented, analytical, and results-driven
•Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
