Assistant Manager – Food Services

The Turning Point Restaurant, a well-established, family-owned local favourite in Golden, BC for over 35 years, is seeking a dedicated Assistant Food Services Manager to join our team. Known for our fresh handmade pizzas, steaks, pastas, burgers, we pride ourselves on delivering quality food and friendly service in a welcoming, family-friendly environment. Located at 906 11 Ave S, we serve both locals and visitors in the heart of this vibrant mountain community.
We are currently hiring for one permanent, full-time Assistant Food Services Manager position. This on-site role offers the opportunity to contribute to the continued success of a respected establishment while leading a committed team in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
Position Details
• Compensation: $37.00 per hour
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Shifts: Day, evening, weekend, with overtime as required
• Start Date: As soon as possible
• Employment Type: Permanent, full-time
• Location: 906 11Ave S, Golden, BC
Key Responsibilities
• Plan, organize, and evaluate daily restaurant operations to ensure efficiency and high standards
• Supervise, train, schedule, and performance-manage a team of 5–10 staff members
• Monitor revenues, labour costs, and product costs; adjust menu pricing and preparation methods within budget guidelines
• Manage inventory, enforce health and safety regulations, and ensure compliance with provincial liquor legislation
• Handle customer concerns promptly and professionally while maintaining excellent service standards
• Prepare cash balances, reports, and related documentation
• Support marketing initiatives and participate in promotional activities
Qualifications and Requirements
• Minimum 5 years of experience in food services, with restaurant management experience strongly preferred
• College/CEGEP diploma or certificate (1–2 years) in Culinary Arts or Chef Training
• Valid Food Safety Certificate
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Windows), point-of-sale systems, and spreadsheets
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent oral and written communication, attention to detail, organizational abilities, and a client-focused approach
• Dependable, flexible, reliable, and effective in multitasking and team collaboration
